General Privacy Policy

GeezApps ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information across all our applications.

Information We Collect

  • We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) unless required for specific app functionality.
  • Contact information is collected only when you reach out to us for support and is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
  • Where cloud sync is available, data is stored locally on your device first and synced only with your consent.

Data Security

  • All data transmitted to or from our services is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • We follow industry best practices to protect your information.

Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

For apps designed for children (such as Kids Tigrigna), we comply with COPPA. These apps do not collect personal information from children under 13, and contain no advertising.

Our ad-supported apps that are also used by children — such as GeoWorld — ask for your year of birth once, on first launch, before any ad is requested. We apply a threshold of 16, the strictest age of digital consent used anywhere in the EEA, to every user regardless of country. Anyone below it is:

  • never shown personalized advertising;
  • never asked to allow tracking;
  • flagged to our advertising partners as being under the age of digital consent, and as child-directed traffic; and
  • shown only ads rated suitable for general audiences.

Your answer is stored on your device only and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Third-Party Services

Some of our apps may use the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (authentication, crash reporting, cloud storage)
  • Google Services (analytics, where applicable)
  • Google AdMob — in-app advertising, in our ad-supported apps only. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
  • Sentry — crash and error reporting, in some apps. Sentry receives crash stack traces, your device model and OS version. It never receives your name, email or any content you create.

Kids' apps do not use third-party tracking services, and no GeezApps app shows personalized advertising to a user under 16.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website (www.geezapps.com) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential Cookies: Used to remember your cookie consent preference and theme settings. These are stored in your browser's local storage and do not transmit data to any server.
  • Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense): We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other sites on the internet. These cookies enable Google and its partners to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements.
  • Analytics Cookies: We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our website, helping us improve content and user experience.

When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner will ask for your permission before any non-essential cookies (advertising and analytics) are set. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or cookies.

Google AdSense & Personalized Advertising

Google AdSense is a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC. Google uses cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party cookies for advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.

We comply with Google's EU User Consent Policy and implement Google Consent Mode v2 to respect your cookie preferences in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom.

Who Is Responsible for Your Data

GeezApps, Kerava, Finland, is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at support@geezapps.com.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict or object to how we process it, including profiling for advertising;
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already took place.

Email support@geezapps.com to exercise any of these. We respond within 30 days and never charge for a request.

Most of our apps store everything on your device and send us nothing, so in those cases there is no data for us to retrieve or delete — uninstalling the app removes it. Each app section below says which of them that applies to.

Legal Bases for Processing

  • Consent — advertising cookies and identifiers, personalized ads, and optional notifications. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — crash and error reporting, to keep our apps working. We use no personally identifying data for this.
  • Performance of a contract — where an app offers an account, to provide the service you signed up for.

Data Retention

  • Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days.
  • Support emails are kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on an issue.
  • Advertising partners set their own retention periods; see their policies, linked above.

International Transfers

Some of our service providers (Google, Sentry) process data outside the EEA. Those transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

Complaints

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Finland, that is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi). We would appreciate the chance to resolve it first.

MediFlash — App-Specific Privacy

MediFlash is a medical exam preparation flashcard app for USMLE, NCLEX, Ethiopian MLE, PLAB, and AMC examinations.

Data We Collect

  • Account Info: Email address, display name, profile photo (optional), and user ID via Firebase Authentication
  • Study Data: Flashcard progress, session duration, spaced repetition data, daily streaks — stored locally and synced to the cloud
  • Diagnostic Data: Anonymous crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics

Permissions

  • Notifications: Optional, for study reminders (local and push)
  • Internet Access: Required for authentication and cloud sync

Data Storage & Deletion

Zero Data Collection

Agenda To Do does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data. All data is stored 100% locally on your device using the Isar database.

  • No cloud sync, no backend servers, no internet required

Permissions

  • Calendar Access: Read-only, to display your events locally
  • Photo Library: For file import/export operations only
  • Notifications: Local only, for task reminders

Your Control

You can export your data as JSON at any time. Deleting the app removes all data completely.

FidelBoard Keyboard — App-Specific Privacy

FidelBoard is a Ge'ez/Ethiopic keyboard for iOS that supports Amharic, Tigrinya, and Ge'ez input via phonetic transliteration and a Fidel character grid.

Zero Data Collection

FidelBoard is a fully offline keyboard. It:

  • Does not collect any text you type
  • Does not request Open Access (Full Access) — your keystrokes never leave your device
  • Does not connect to the internet
  • Does not use analytics, tracking, or telemetry
  • Does not contain advertising
  • Does not use third-party SDKs

Local Storage

FidelBoard stores only your keyboard preferences (language, theme, key size) locally on your device using iOS App Groups. This data never leaves your device.

Keyboard Input

All text processing — transliteration, character selection, and suggestions — happens entirely on your device. No keystrokes, words, or text content are ever transmitted anywhere.

Crash Reports

If the keyboard encounters an error, a crash report is saved locally on your device. You can view and delete it from the FidelBoard app. Crash reports are never sent automatically.

Children's Privacy

FidelBoard does not collect any data from any user, including children under 13.

GeoWorld — App-Specific Privacy

GeoWorld is a geography learning app covering 240 countries and territories, all 50 US states, and every continent, through quizzes, flashcards and interactive maps. It is free and supported by advertising.

No Account, No Server

GeoWorld has no sign-in, no user accounts, and no backend of its own. Your progress, streaks, bookmarks, quiz history and settings are stored in a database on your device and are never uploaded anywhere. We cannot see them, and we could not retrieve them for you if you asked. Every flag, map and country detail ships inside the app, so it works with no connection at all.

Year of Birth

On first launch, before any advertisement is requested, GeoWorld asks for your year of birth. This is stored on your device as a single number and is never transmitted. It is used for one purpose: deciding whether advertising may be personalized. You can change it at any time under Settings → Privacy → Year of birth.

We treat anyone under 16 as a child, which is the strictest age of digital consent used anywhere in the EEA, applied to everyone regardless of country.

Advertising

GeoWorld shows ads through Google AdMob: a banner on browsing screens, an occasional full-screen ad after a completed quiz, ads within country lists, and an optional video you can choose to watch to restore a lost daily streak. There are no ads during a quiz question.

If you are under 16, or have not answered the age question:

  • Ads are never personalized and no advertising profile is built.
  • You are never shown Apple's tracking permission prompt.
  • Requests are flagged to Google as child-directed and under the age of digital consent.
  • Ad content is limited to a general-audiences rating.

If you are 16 or over, ads may be personalized — but only if you have given consent through both:

  • the consent form shown on first launch in the EEA and UK, provided by Google's User Messaging Platform; and
  • on iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Declining either keeps GeoWorld fully usable — you simply see less relevant ads. Nothing in the app is locked behind consent.

Google may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) and ad interaction data to serve and measure advertising. See how Google uses this data, and Google Ads Settings to manage it.

Withdrawing Consent

  • Ad personalization (GDPR): Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy settings. This reopens Google's consent form.
  • Tracking (iOS): iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → GeoWorld.
  • Age answer: Settings → Privacy → Year of birth.

Crash Reporting

GeoWorld uses Sentry to report crashes and errors so we can fix them. A report contains the technical stack trace, your device model and OS version. It contains no name, no email, no location, and nothing you have created in the app.

Permissions

  • Notifications — optional, and only if you turn on the daily streak reminder. Off by default.
  • Internet — used only for advertising and crash reports. All learning content is bundled with the app.
  • GeoWorld never requests your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.

Deleting Your Data

Because nothing leaves your device, you are in full control: Settings → Data & Progress → Reset All Progress clears your quiz history and streaks, Clear All Bookmarks removes saved countries, and deleting the app removes everything, including your year of birth.

  • No unnecessary data collection
  • Local-first storage
  • No data sharing with third parties
  • User control over all personal data
